Modeling tool
Our modeling tool is based on the open source software BPMN.io, which we have integrated into Nextcloud and enriched with additional functions. BPMN 2.0 is THE standard in process management for process modeling. With our tool, you can use the entire range of BPMN 2.0 notation. This includes all elements of the descriptive and analytical modeling levels, as well as the possibility of creating hierarchical process models.
In addition, the tool covers other notation standards such as DMN (Decision Model Notation) and CMMN (Case Management Model and Notation).
Features
The tool's extensive features allow users to create process models tailored to their target group. The following functions are integrated:
- Process Orchestration
- Hierarchical Modeling
- Descriptive and Analytical Level
- Validations
- Token Simulation
- Data URL
- Printing and File Export.
For example, a simple process was modeled on the descriptive level, but it still contains errors and is incomplete. The tool recognizes this and reports it to the user via error messages.
Modeling Standards
To ensure that BPMN diagrams comply with modeling standards, the tool supports the following rule validations:
- eCH-0158
- eCH-0140
- Method and style (Bruce Silver).
For example, the following process model includes elements from the analytical level. Additional process levels have been integrated into the diagram with the subprocess and the call activity.
Future development
Our software development team is well connected to the Nextcloud community and always keeps the tool up to date with the latest developments. To date, we have already released more than 30 new features and there are many more to come.
